Operator Licence Conditions Rules 2018 – Public Consultation Notice

The National Information and Communications Technology Authority (NICTA) has decided in accordance with Section 219 of the National Information and Communications Technology Act 2009 (the Act) to engage in public consultation in accordance with Section 229 of the Act in relation to proposed rules affecting the standard conditions of operator licences and the special conditions in relation to the operator licences of Kumul Telikom Holdings Limited (KTH) and Digicel (PNG) Limited (Digicel).

A consultation paper for the purposes of the public consultation will be available on NICTA’s website (www.nicta.gov.pg) from Thursday, 20 December 2018. The paper considers all of the licences conditions it is proposed will be included in the Rules. The public consultation shall commence from that date and end on Friday 1st February 2019, the deadline for submissions. Information on how interested parties may make submissions on the issues covered by the proposed rules is contained in the public discussion paper.

This notice fulfils the requirements of Sections 219(1)(c) and 229(2) of the Act.
