Domestic Mobile Roaming & Facilities Access Services – Public Inquiry Notice

In accordance with Sections 131 (7) and 230 of the National Information Communication and Technology Act 2009 (the Act), NICTA hereby gives notice to conduct a public inquiry to determine whether a recommendation should be made to the Minister for Information and Communications Technology, Hon. Jimmy Miringtoro, MP, to declare Domestic Mobile Roaming and Facilities Access Services.

The public inquiry will be completed within a period of six (6) months from today with the release of the discussion paper. The discussion paper can be obtained from the NICTA Head Office located at Frangipani Street, Hohola, Port Moresby or downloaded from the NICTA Public Register at www.nicta.gov.pg Additionally, a copy of the document can also be requested from Polume Lume by email: plume@nicta.gov.pg

The inquiry is intended to be paper-based where only written submissions and evidence shall be accepted and will not involve any public hearings.

NICTA invites stakeholders and interested parties to consider and comment on the discussion paper. All written submissions should be submitted by email to: consultation.submission@nicta.gov.pg by noon 30th August 2013.

The publication of this notice fulfils the requirements set out in s.231 of the Act.
