In a small but significant event today, Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Honorable, Timothy Masiu launched the 2021, saferinternetday campaign, which will run for the entire month of February 2021.
Minister Masiu in his remarks while encouraging Papua New Guieans to positively use the internet for growth and development also warned that the government will not hesitate to introduce tougher penalties on cybercrimes.
Dignitaries present include Mr Kila Gulo-Vui, CEO of NICTA, Mr StevenMatainaho, Secretary of Department of Information and Communications Technology, His Excellency Mr. Keith Scott, British High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea, Mr. Peter Davis Get Safe Online (GSO) Global Ambassador who attended via Zoom.
